Ali & Dan

Friday, August 29, 2008

My wedding season is coming to a close . . . just two more to shoot for 2008. And I'm finishing up this year though with some really great ones! Ali and Dan got married in Lincoln and Felipe Pereira from Kansas City came up to shoot this one with me. It was a really pretty wedding and reception and we just really fun working with the great natural light in the church and the moody available light at the reception. Here are a few of their images and click here to see their slideshow. And if you're in the market for a wedding planner, I can't recommend highly enough Beth and Joellen of Wedding Extraordinaire. They were amazing to work with and the wedding day flowed seamlessly. Congratulations Ali and Dan and thanks for letting us be part of your day!

Rachel

I have another awesome senior session to share. Rachel and I had a blast shooting downtown. Every time I shoot downtown, my goal is to find new and interesting places and ways to photograph ... otherwise I get bored shooting in the same locations. Not only did we find some great spots, Rachel was a natural! Check out a few of her photos.

SHOES!

Tuesday, August 26, 2008

If I could raid someone's shoe closet, I've decided it would be Whitney's! I love it when my senior girls come prepared with all kinds of fun accessories and not only was her jewelry lots of fun, check out her shoes! So fun . . . it's no surprise that Whitney's images turned out super-cute too!

Melissa

I really enjoyed photographing Melissa last week and her session was especially nice since it was inside the studio on a hot day. I LOVE Melissa's style and she was so natural in front of the camera. Doesn't she look like a rock star in the black & white photo?

Kelsie

Here's Kelsie, one of my senior girls. I have to say, Kelsie was a lot of fun to photograph and thank you Kelsie for putting up with all my crazy requests! I love Kelsie's images. And doesn't Kelsie have the prettiest hair? I've always wished for auburn hair!

The Kaplans

I'm trying to get caught up with all my sneak peaks as I've fallen a little bit behind . . . here are the Kaplans who I photographed at Memorial Park. I'll be putting together a wall collection for them that has 6 images . . . probably a couple family photos and then some individual images of the children. I'm excited to put it together!

Oh, and thanks Gary and Phil for carrying my bench for me! It was worth it, don't you think?

Here are a few from their session:

A Shameless Plug - Come Run with Me!

Friday, August 22, 2008

My younger sister has been hard at work organizing the Omaha MK5K . . . a 5K race benefitting the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation. And for all of you who have just been dying to run with your favorite photographer, now is the chance you've been waiting for! I know that you're excited!

The race is on September 13 at Walnut Creek Recreation Area in Papillion. Registration is at 8:00 and the race begins at 9:00. Registration is $20 if you register before August 30 and 100% of your entrance fee benefits the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation.

The Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation is a wonderful charity that funds many women's causes (women's shelters, domestic violence prevention, and women's cancer research to name a few).

For more information go to the MK5K blog. (www.omahamk5k.blogspot.com ) Hopefully I'll see you there . . . what a better way to spend a Saturday morning than getting some exercise and supporting a great cause!

A few for me!

Wednesday, August 20, 2008

I'm taking a short, short break from editing lots of seniors to edit a few photos for me! We took little Emmett to the splash park after work tonight for a little bit of fun. (How did I go all summer without even know that these parks existed?) He just giggled and giggled and ran through all the spraying water. We finally pulled him out when his skin started to look blue from the cold water!

One more senior

Thursday, August 14, 2008

I have one more senior to post . . . and her shoot was actually this week (I'm trying to be better about posting sessions faster). Casey and I had a great time and we have a lot in common . . . we even like some of the same little-known bands! Casey is a natural in front of the camera which made my job really easy!

Morgan

Okay . . . I'm almost finished posting my seniors for the week. I had a lot of fun with Morgan and her mom. After going to one of my favorite spots and finding that someone had mowed down the wildflowers that used to grow there (BOOO!), we improvised and went over to Lake Zorinsky to finish Morgan's outside shots. I LOVED the black & white dress that she wore outside and the morning light was so pretty!

Rachel

Here's Rachel . . . another one of my awesome senior girls! The day of her photo shoot was so hot . . . but we finished off a really fun shoot with a slushie from Sonic which really hit the spot. I don't usually post head shots, but I just really think Rachel's is great. Who said that yearbook photos have to be boring?

Megan

I've had the most fun senior sessions lately! I've photographed about 10 girls in the last two weeks and each one has been really creative and exciting. Megan's shoot was especially fun and when you look at Megan's first photo below, don't you think she looks like Reese Witherspoon? So cute!

Kirsti

We had awesome light for Kirsti's downtown photo shoot last week. We spent about 3 hours shooting and got some really awesome image! Kirstie's friend Jess came along and we got a few photos of the two friends together too!

Baby Eleanor

Check out sweet Baby Eleanor . . . she's just a few weeks old and is the daughter of one of my college classmates! So while I had lots of fun photographing Eleanor, I also got to catch up with an old friend . . . even better! Eleanor was quite the little social butterfly and wouldn't fall asleep so we could get some sleeping shots, but with eyes like she has, we probably would have liked the "awake" photos better anyway!

Lots of Seniors

Thursday, August 7, 2008

These days we are photographing lots of seniors . . . it's crazy-busy as everyone is trying to get their sessions in before school starts. I've been having lots of fun photographing these guys . . . and the best thing is they are willing to go along with my crazy requests. I guess it's nice to know that they trust me to get great shots of them!

Here are a few recent shoots:

Alex was one of the sweetest girls I've ever photographed and she even climbed a really high wobbly fence for me in order to get some shots. I think it was worth it because the images on the other side of the fence are great!

Sarah was so much fun to photograph . . . she had perfect blonde hair that blew perfectly in the breeze. We took a few shots with Sarah's sister too, which I thought turned out so cute! It's not fair . . . I want a photo like that with my sisters!

OK . . . I love this kid! Seamus was so much fun, he still makes me smile a week later. I mean . . . look at the t-shirt that he brought. I seriously love it! Thanks for helping me to love my job so much Seamus!

Beth was such a character . . . and I LOVE the headbands she wore! We had awesome light for Beth's shoot and got some really amazing outdoor images . . . and indoor too.

One of the most fun shoots I've been on lately, I got to photograph Klancy with his two horses. I had been looking forward to his shoot since they day he booked his session and I wasn't disappointed. The lighting was fabulous and the horses were beautiful and Klancy was just so relaxed and easy to work with. I love the rustic images . . . Klancy had some great studio shots too, but I just love his outside images.

And finally, we have Zac who has the bluest eyes I think I have ever seen! I loved Zac's style and I think his images are just so cool!

And that's it for now . . . I have about 5 seniors to shoot this week, so I'll be posting more soon!
