Jamie + Tony

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

I've been so excited to edit these amazing wedding photos from Jamie and Tony's wedding on the west side of Oahu! Their wedding was simply stunning with a small group of really close family and friends. It was so special to be part of such an intimate celebration! There were so many incredible images . . . these are just a teeny-tiny sample of the hundreds of beautiful shots. Congratulations Jamie and Tony and THANK YOU for letting us be a part of your day!

Six Months Old

Thursday, June 18, 2009

6 months old . . . my most favorite baby age to photograph! Here are two of my most recent 6 month olds . . . so sweet and pretty! Surina has the most beautiful dark brown eyes and loads of personality. What a darling!

Madeline is my cousin Kara's daughter, so I was really excited to photograph her. Who wouldn't be excited to photograph those baby blues and that beautiful hair?

Tara + Todd

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

Tara and Todd had a beautiful wedding in Sioux City last month . . . they are such a great couple! I love photographing couples who have a really supportive relationship and these two definitely do. Their wedding was really unique and they put so much time and effort into lots of details. I've never been at a wedding with dueling pianos instead of a dance, but it was seriously the most fun ever . . . and the guests were loving it too!

Raising Dough

Thursday, June 4, 2009

Giving back to our awesome community is really important to Rob and I and during our slow season, we had two really awesome projects that benefitted two really amazing charities.

In February, we worked with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) to create a "Children's Presence" art piece for their annual gala. We worked with 13 local children who live with Type 1 Diabetes . . . it was an amazing project. Each of the children had their hands painted with symbols that represent their life with Type 1 Diabetes. Then I, as the lucky photographer, got to photograph the hands of each child and create a fabulous canvas art piece which was auctioned off at their event. I have learned so much from working with these brave little (and big) kids. If you don't know much about Juvenile Diabetes, check out the JDRF website http://www.jdrf.org/ and help find a cure!

Here's a mini version of the canvas we created:

Then in March we had our first ever "Paw Prints" event. We photographed lots of dogs and one scared cat to raise money for the Nebraska Humane Society. I'll admit it was way more challenging than I thought it would be, but we got some really cute images and raised $750 for the Humane Society. Here's a taste!

I'm Here.

Yes . . . I'm still here and with the start of a new Senior season, I am going to re-commit myself to this blog! So you'll be seeing lots more from me. We've had a really busy off-season . . . in addition to a higher than average number of sessions during our slow time, Rob and I bought a new house and moved and adopted a baby boy (Evan) who is now three months old. So many of you have been wanting to see him, so here he is except he's a lot bigger already! I need to get his 3 month portraits taken!
