Two Cuties are Better than One.

Monday, June 30, 2008

A couple weeks ago, I got to photograph Charlie (who I photographed about a year ago) and his little sister Libby. They are great kids . . . such fun personalities . . . and yes their eyes really are that blue! Aren't they cute?

Hurricane Session

So our senior season is well underway and I was having an awesome session with Kara on Friday (we were finished shooting in the studio and were outside making some great shots) and then the tornado sirens sounded! We scrambled to the car and luckily made it back to the studio before the crazy winds hit! I'll never forget Kara's session and I'm sure she won't either! Anyway . . . we need to get together again to finish up Kara's outdoor portraits but here are a few of her studio shots.

Rings & Things

Wednesday, June 18, 2008

Well, I've been wanting a macro lens for a few years now and I finally said, what the heck . . . I'm just going to get it! So I've been having lots of fun making beautiful ring shots at weddings and this lens is also going to be great for getting close-up shots of little tiny baby feet and hands! I just love using this lens and hopefully you can see why!

4 in a Row

Well, I have just finished my longest stretch of weddings for the year . . . I had 4 weddings in 4 weekends! I loved working with all of these amazing couples. They all had such beautiful yet different weddings. That's one of my favorite parts of my job . . . getting to see all the things that make each couple and wedding unique.

The first wedding of my long stretch was Jessica and JR . . . who got married at St. John's on the Creighton University campus. I may be biased (I went to school at Creighton and actually worked as a St. John's wedding coordinator while I was in undergrad), but St. John's has to be one of the most amazing churches in Omaha. I LOVE shooting there! And Jessica and JR were just the cutest things. The best part of their wedding was their completely choreographed 1st dance. They were so good their guests were cheering! Here's a few photos from their wedding.

The next weekend I got to travel to Sioux City for Lindsey and Daniel's wedding. I'm always excited to get out of town and shoot somewhere new! I've never photographed a wedding in Sioux City before and was really excited about their really cute and quaint downtown. It was perfect for making some awesome portraits! Lindsey was such a beautiful bride . . . and Daniel was right up there with her too! Here's a few photos from their day.

Sarah and Adam got married the next weekend in Gretna at St. Patrick's. During the ceremony Adam played his guitar and sang to Sarah . . . so sweet! And I have to say that they had a REALLY fun wedding party. We took some photos in the Old Market before their reception and their wedding party was a hoot! Congratulations on your wedding you two!

And last week I had a wonderful time with Ryan and Seth at their wedding here in Omaha. Ryan was such an elegant bride and Seth totally surprised me with his soft side! (I'm always so touched when a groom gets teary-eyed). My favorite part of their wedding was the toasts after dinner. Their family and friends gave the most amazing, heartfelt speeches which was a great kick-off for their reception!
